Art Appreciation Once a month our students are exposed to a famous artist and one of his or her prints. After the presentation, the students work on a follow-up activity in imitation of the artist's style and work. Spanish Our students are introduced to the Spanish language from Kindergarten through fourth grade. The children are taught the language through an excellent video program that is facilitated by their teacher. The goal of this program is to expose the children to another language and enable them to speak/understand simple words and phrases. Electives Our students in sixth grade through eighth grade are able to select two elective classes that meet one afternoon each week. The students in fifth grade are able to do this in the second semester of fifth grade. Students may choose from such courses as: French, Spanish, Music, Art, Drama, Band, Track, Yearbook, Newspaper. These courses are subject to change in any given year. Drama The Drama Club is available to our students in grades five through eight. This program takes place after school and is an extension of our Drama Course. It gives our students, who are talented in this area, an opportunity to develop this talent and showcase it at the end of the year in a One Act Play or Musical. |
