Pastoral Council Minutes

June 7, 2007

Members Present: Tom Corbett, Rose Davis, Nivia CiFuentes, Linda Heininger, Jim Rotondo,

Joe Scavuzzo and Father Stan.

New Business:

• Father Stan welcomed the Interim Council members and summarized the downfall of the previous Council and the goals and objectives of the new Council. Topics discussed were confidentiality, the respecting of gifts, talents, limitations and boundaries of Council members. The art of listening and discernment and the need for prayer and reflection are also key ingredients for a successful Council.

• The search will begin for an effective Communications Person to bridge the gap between Parishioners, Ministries and the Council.

• Parish Clustering gossip issues were discussed and our community of faith’s morale has been greatly affected by the rumors. Fear of change is a natural reaction especially when certain decisions are out of our control. We are however moving forward to strengthen our parish in the areas of spiritual life, diversity, liturgy, hospitality, inclusivity and sensitivity to cultures.

• We are seeking 16 new Pastoral Council Candidates for election in the Fall. Eight (8) of the 16 will be elected and four (4) will be handpicked by the Pastor. Interim Council members will submit names of 3 candidates at the next meeting June 21^st.

Next Pastoral Council Meeting: Thursday, June 21, 2007 @ 7:00pm in the School Faculty Lounge.
