Minutes of February 20, 2008 meeting approved as amended
Guest: Ministry Fair Committee proposal
All members of PC received proposal in advance of meeting. There was discussion about choice of Friday night by committee. Betsy McBride and Kathy McKenna said committee felt it was best night for best turnout. Proposal was approved.
Administrator’s
Report: Fr. Vince Orum
We await the Bishop’s decision on April 3 with prayers. Please make every effort to attend the joint councils meeting on March 27. Support of the House of Charity was requested. Marcia Miller is our representative from Pastoral Council. Our goal is $55K, but there are discrepancies between the active parishioners list of the Diocese and that of the Parish to be worked out.
President’s
Report: Rich McKean
A report on the lunch with the Bishop following the Confirmation Mass was given. Rich indicated the Bishop was attentive and noticed the fact that expansion was possible at St. Stephen’s. Discussion of the need for a new PC member (to replace Gary Sapienza) took place. It was decided to await the reconfiguration decision. Mary Ann Meloni also suggested a discernment evening for those interested in taking on the duties of a PC member. The importance of attendance at meetings and dialogue between meetings was stressed. Members were asked to respond to emails or, if not able to check emails, to check in with president between meetings.
Parish Planning Update: Craig Otto. Report filed. Also available on website.
Finance Report: Rita Vogt, president of Parish Finance Council was unable to attend. She asked that her 3/10/08 message in the bulletin serve as her report.
Liturgy Committee
Report: Mary Ann Meloni
Committee met on March 9. Soup night was discussed. Arts and Environment chair, Esther Coar presented schedule for decorating and Gothic Stations practices. She was asked to notify Rita Vogt of any set up, break down in church so the parish maintenance man could perform those duties. Fresh flowers were asked to be used for Easter. Music ministry plans for Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday were discussed. Altar server changes were discussed between Fr. Vince and Lou Grosso. Scheduling for Eucharistic Ministers will now be done by Terry Scavuzzo. Lector scheduling will now be done by Pam Palazzo. Ministry chair people were asked to submit proposed budgets by April 25.
Buildings and Grounds: Joey Scavuzzo – not in attendance
Ray Costner is the new part-time maintenance man for the parish.
School Report: Pat Higgins - not in attendance
Enrollment is in excess of 200 for 2008-2009. Important dates to remember – CAP training, PTA Silver Diner Night, 8th grade spaghetti dinner, First Communion. Special note: Elise Corbett received award from DAR for first place among 7th graders for essay on “Espionage During the American Revolution.” Someone asked if the Book Fair had been advertised to Parish.

Whether or not to continue to place monthly calendar in bulletin was discussed. Fr. Vince will follow up with Betsy McBride about coordination of dates with school/parish.
